ADJA - COach
“I’ve always been active from an early age, first as a competitive gymnast, then moving into dance in my teenage years. It wasn’t until my final years at university that I became more conscious of my eating habits, mental health, and overall wellness. As a way of coping with the pressures of studying, I started going to the gym more frequently and eating more mindfully. While at the gym, I fell in love with weight training. Sticking to a routine helped me feel stronger, both mentally and physically. Fitness brought balance, direction, and stability into my life. I knew I had to share this with others, so I trained to become a personal trainer.
Ultimately, my goal is to shift women’s mindsets around training. Fitness should not be a chore, nor should it solely focus on aesthetics. It is a form of self-love and self-care that I believe everyone should practise.
I encourage women to take control, do it for themselves, and embark on their own personal fitness journeys. To me, training is a sacred time to reconnect with our bodies and restore mental and spiritual harmony in our lives. This is important, as we often put time aside for everything and everyone else but neglect our own wellbeing. This needs to change. Although starting this journey can feel daunting, with support and motivation, you’ll come to see that the journey itself is deeply rewarding and that the results will be worthwhile.
I want every woman who walks into our studio to feel welcome and comfortable, and to be supported in taking that first step into their fitness journey, achieving what they once thought wasn’t possible.
‘Fall in love with taking care of your body.’”
